1921: Founded; manufactured clinical thermometers
1960s: Pioneered the development of disposable medical products (plastic syringes, single-use needles, evacuated blood-collection tubes, and more)
1970s: Expanded its global presence with manufacturing and marketing companies in the United States and Europe (founding of Terumo Medical Corporation)
1980s: Continued worldwide growth with new products for angiography and other technically challenging fields
1990s: Launched coronary stent manufacturing in Japan for the first time
